Super Mario Pixel Club

A group calling themselves the Super Mario Pixel Club has been spreading their chalk artwork across the UTA campus in Arlington, TX. The group uses the brickwork as their pixels and works during the night to avoid getting caught. They created a Scrooge McDuck mural on the side of the school of business building, but unfortunately, that one didn't make it. Spray paint may help that out next time.

The Mario Bros. characters as the overly tan Jersey Shore characters, you get the idea.

Super Mario Wedding Proposal

This may very well be the world's nerdiest wedding proposal. This guy edited the coins in Super Mario World to say; Lisa Will You Marry Me.

My nerdy way to propose. On October 15th 2009, it was our 5 year anniversary so i decided to propose. She may not look too surprised in the video but you should of seen her afterwords, she couldn't sit still!!! And no it wasn't staged, but I did sit her down told her to play some Super Mario World, but she totally didn't know she was being recorded!!

We're just overflowing with geeky emotions.

Good thing she accepted, you know, with the videotaping and all. That'd be a harsh one to watch later if she had said no.

Real Life Piranha Plant from Super Mario Bros.

Well, not really, but close.  The detail in this thing is flat-out amazing.  You'd certainly be frightened if you woke up to one of these things sitting on your bedroom floor.  Just one quick point though, the piranha plant is quite possibly the stupidest of the bad guys in Super Mario Bros., all you have to do is stand on the pipe and they can't come out.  Why is that? The damn thing should be able to pop up and eat you.

This thing is so realistic that, quite frankly, we're a little bit frightened it might come to life and start breeding.

The artist even included a little "Making Of" video to show you how he got it accomplished.

Get more pictures of the Piranha Plant and check out the rest of Kalapusa's work here.
